The Colorado Master Gardener Program: Planting Gardens, Growing People
The Colorado Master Gardener Program
in Broomfield County
In Broomfield County, a dedicated group of 44 Colorado Master Gardener Volunteers bring a variety of projects to life. The majority of projects include one-to-one consultation with Broomfield County residents, but it also includes special events, community gardening projects and other educational activities.
Primary Outreach Projects
- Ask a Colorado Master Gardener - During the "busy" season (mid April to mid October), Broomfield Master Gardeners are available to answer gardening-related questions at four locations: the Broomfield County CSU Extension office, Home Depot, Garden Country Nursery, and Anthem Ranch. Contact the Broomfield office for the current "Ask a Master Gardener" schedule.
- Colorado Master Gardener Helpline - Year-round, residents may leave a message on the Broomfield Master Gardener helpline at 303-464-5554, and a volunteer will return their call and provide assistance by telephone or email. Broomfield residents may email horticultural questions to broomfieldmg@ext.colostate.edu.
- Broomfield Garden Fair - Each February, the Broomfield Master Gardeners host a mini garden fair with booths, workshops, informational handouts, and door prizes.
- Xeriscape Demonstration Garden - The Broomfield Master Gardeners designed and maintain a Xeriscape demonstration garden in front of Broomfield's City and County Building, located at 1 DesCombes Drive. The garden gives residents the opportunity to see and identify Xeriscape options in a natural setting, and landscape plans for the different themed areas are available onsite.
